We are excited to welcome Ms. Irby to Navo Middle School! Prior to joining our team, Ms. Irby spent the past 7 years teaching at both the high school and middle school levels. During that time, she led multiple ensembles to UIL competitions, consistently earning First Division ratings.
Mrs. Irby is a proud graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University and recently earned her Master’s degree in Music Education from Southern Methodist University. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including Tau Beta Sigma, Pi Kappa Lambda, and the Texas Music Educators Association. Ms. Irby will be teaching all beginning woodwind classes, directing the Honors Band, and co-teaching the Symphonic Band. Her passion for music education is deeply rooted in her own experiences as a student. Some of her favorite memories come from her time in band throughout middle school, high school, and college. She has performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, on the prestigious stage of Carnegie Hall, and has earned medals at Bands of America Super Regionals, Grand Nationals, and the Texas State Marching Contest. Mrs. Irby currently lives in Frisco, TX with her cat, Salem. In her free time, she enjoys musical theatre, painting, and watching scary movies. |
